Publisher arrested for involvement with ABT, police say

Anti-terrorism Unit of police has claimed to have detained one of the militant groups Ansarullah Bangla Team during a raid in Dhaka's Sutrapur area on the morning of.

The person arrested, Habibur Rahman Shamim (38) is the editor and proprietor of Rehab Publications in Bangla Bazar region.

He is from Narayanganj, Habib used to publish books that incited extremism through his publishing company, Mohammad Aslam Khan, the director (Media and awareness) of ATU said to The Daily Star.

The ATU official stated that Habib was influenced by the novels written by ABT Chief Mufti Jashimuddin Rahmani. He began printing them in his publishing house in the year 2016 and then joined the militant group in 2016.

In addition to the books of Rahmani, Habib also printed books by others ABT leaders and followers, he claimed that the suspect was able to distribute printed books and videos which incited extremismand other agents.
